How can I change or reset my password and manage security settings?

Password Update

Step 1: Open the Settings Menu

  1. Locate the Settings Icon:
    • At the top-right corner of your screen, find and click the Settings icon (gear symbol).

  2. Access Password & Security:
    • In the left-hand navigation menu, under the General Settings section, click on Password & Security.
    • This will open the options for managing your password and security settings.

Step 2: Initiate Password Change

  1. Locate the Change Password Option:

    • In the Password & Security section, click the Change Password button.
    • This will open a popup dialog box prompting you to enter your password details.
  2. Enter Password Details:

    • In the popup dialog, you will find three fields:
      • Current Password: Enter your existing password.
      • New Password: Input your desired new password.
      • Confirm New Password: Re-enter the new password to confirm it.
    • Ensure your new password meets the platform’s requirements:
      • Minimum 8 characters, including at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one digit, and one special character (e.g., $, &, etc.).
    • The Change Password button will activate once all fields are filled and passwords match.
  3. Save New Password:

    • Click the Change Password button to finalize the update.
    • A confirmation message will appear, stating that your password has been successfully updated.

 

Step 3: 2-Step Verification

  1. Email-Based 2-Step Verification:

    • Kosmic.ai automatically enables email-based 2-step verification for all users during signup.
    • When changing your password, an OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your registered email address as part of the verification process.

  2. Verify with OTP:

    • After entering your new password, you will receive an OTP in your email inbox.
    • Enter the OTP in the verification dialog box that appears.
    • If you don’t receive the code, click the Resend Code option to request another OTP.
  3. Confirm Verification:

    • Once the OTP is entered, click the Verify button to complete the password update process.
    • A success message will confirm that your password has been changed and verification completed.

Tips and Troubleshooting

Password Requirements Not Met Ensure your password includes the required characters (uppercase, lowercase, digits, special characters).
Didn’t Receive OTP Check your spam folder or click Resend Code to generate a new OTP.
Forgot Current Password Use the Forgot Password option on the login screen to reset your password.
