How to View,Edit and comment on Tasks?

View, Edit & Comment Task

Step 01: Access the Task Manager Boards

  • Navigate to the Task Manager section via the left sidebar.
  • Select the Board tab at the top of the interface to open the board layout. [Placeholder for Snapshot: Display the Board View with visible task columns ("To Do," "In Progress," "Done"). Annotate the task cards.]

Step 02: Locate the Task

  • Identify the task you want to view in one of the columns (e.g., "To Do," "In Progress," "Done").

Step 03: Open Task Details

  • Click on the task card to open the Task Detail panel on the right-hand side of the screen. [Placeholder for Snapshot: Include a screenshot of the Task Detail panel, highlighting sections such as Task Name, Assignee, Priority, and Comments.]

Task Detail Overview

  1. Task Information:

    • Task Name: Displays the title of the task at the top.
    • Job and Project: Indicates the associated job or project category.
    • Assignee: Shows the team member responsible for the task.
    • Priority: Highlights the task’s priority level (e.g., High, Medium, Low).
    • Status: Indicates the current progress status (e.g., To Do, In Progress, Done).
    • Start and End Dates: Displays the start and end dates if specified.

  2. Task Description:

    • Found under the Description tab.
    • Includes detailed task instructions, requirements, or acceptance criteria.
  3. Task Comments:

    • Navigate to the Comments tab to view and interact with comments.
    • Reply to Comments: Click Reply beneath a comment to respond directly.
    • Edit or Delete Comments: Review your comment to see options for editing or deleting. 
  4. Action Buttons:

    • Cancel: Closes the Task Detail panel without making changes.
    • Edit Task: Opens the task in edit mode to modify its details.

Task Editing

  1. Step 1-A: Open the Edit Task Window

    • Click the Edit button in the Task Detail panel.
    • The Edit Task window will appear, prompting you to fill in or modify the required fields. 
  2. Step 1-B: Modify Task Details

    • Task Name: Update the task’s name.
    • Assignee: Change the assigned team member by selecting from the dropdown.

    • Priority: Adjust the task’s priority level (High, Medium, Low).
  3. Step 1-C: Update Dates

    • Use the date selector to modify the Start Date or End Date
  4. Step 1-D: Update Description

    • Modify the task description using the rich text editor. 
  5. Step 1-E: Save Changes

    • Click the Save button to confirm changes.
    • A confirmation message will appear: “Task updated successfully.”
